Daniel Cunha, former CFO of Kraft-Heinz’s North America division, has stepped in as CFO of Ocean Spray Cranberries, the company announced Tuesday.
The farmer-owned co-operative Ocean Spray said they hired Cunha for his "background in corporate finance, financial planning and analysis, investor relations, mergers and acquisitions, strategic leadership, and risk management."
Cunha was also co-founder of private equity firm, Tangram Partners.
Cunha has been in the finance and management field for over 15 years. At Tangram Partners, a consumer-focused private equity firm, Cunha was responsible for fundraising, deal sourcing and execution.
Prior to co-founding Tangram, Cunha was CFO of two businesses with billion-dollar revenues at Kraft Heinz. He was CFO of Heinz North America prior to Kraft's acquisition, and after the acquisition, CFO of the Beverages and Snack Nuts division.
"It is a fantastic time to be joining Ocean Spray," Cunha said. "Ocean Spray was historically built on products with clear health benefits and certainly has a key role in serving consumers in the future, offering them the health and wellness products they want. I'm ecstatic to join this transformational effort and help build a stronger consumer-centric company."
Ocean Spray CEO Bobby Chacko expressed appreciation for Cunha's "ideas and approach to leadership when it comes to the strategic vs. operational requirements of a CFO, as well as his ability to navigate through transformational growth."
Cunha will lead Ocean Spray's financial planning and analysis, corporate controller, treasury, and procurement teams, reporting directly to Chacko, the release said.
Neither representatives for Ocean Spray nor for Cunha responded to requests for comment.
